What People Are Saying:

I’ve learned more in 4 months with [Lauren] than I have in 2 years with in-person instruction. - Joanne Inzinna

When I turned 60, I wanted to take guitar lessons. I signed up for classes at a well-known music store. Four instructors, two music schools and two years later, I didn’t feel like I had learned very much. As each instructor moved on, each new instructor taught in a different style and I always felt like I was starting from square one. I decided to try to learn on my own with YouTube. I came across some videos by Lauren Bateman. After watching a few videos and seeing what I liked, I signed up for Lauren’s online classes. I love them. She is a great instructor, very patient and very concise. Her course is laid out very well and I love Lauren’s videos. They are easy to understand and easy to follow along with. I would highly recommend Lauren Bateman’s online course. - Lori Bennet

I can say without hesitation that I am enjoying the course and making headway on progressing through each level at my pace, which is very important to me. I have even started to learn a few songs. I feel that Lauren has structured the course to fit anyone's schedule and teaches each level to make learning easy at any experience level. Combining the video instruction with practice materials really clarifies each objective for me, as someone with a limited musical background. In addition, I feel the various suggestions and recommendations that Lauren posts are extremely helpful along with her posts on YouTube. - Jeffrey Gillis

Over the years I’ve dabbled on guitar. Taken lessons for a while and then quit. There were so many gaps in my knowledge, but I couldn’t find any lessons online that I could stick with. But when I found Lauren Bateman’s beginner lessons, my life changed! Lauren begins her lessons where anyone that’s willing to spend a little effort every week can find success. I’d had trouble with other online lessons not showing fingering or strum patterns clearly, but Lauren breaks it down to the very simplest steps that things just really began to click with me. I started lessons with her about 3 months ago and I led worship at church this week for the first time playing my acoustic guitar. I would have never dreamed success would come so quickly! I’ve been recommending Lauren to anyone that asks me about lessons. You can’t beat the price and with her Facebook group and zoom calls she’s a personal teacher that you can reach out to with questions. At first, I was hesitant to reach out, but she is down to earth and so supportive! And the other students in the group are so encouraging! - Pamela Yates

I have wanted to play the guitar for most of my life, I bought one as a teenager, but that was as far as I got. Ended up giving it away because I never used it. When I turned 60 a couple of years ago, I decided the time was right to give it a fair dinkum go. I brought an acoustic guitar and joined a group of friends that had jam sessions on a Tuesday night hoping to pick up a few pointers. Although they were willing to help I found the terminology and information they gave me was way to advanced for me. Lauren makes it personal, like it is one on one, and she is always available to answer any questions you might have. Lauren will even ask you to send her a video of you playing something you are having trouble with so she can see for herself what is happening in order to help you. There is a private Facebook page for members which has become a type of family where you can ask questions or showcase your progress. Lauren also has Zoom meetings where she not only answers questions raised but shows you how to overcome problems that some of us might be having. Lauren is so accommodating that she even varies the time of her zoom meetings so her students, not matter where they live in the world can participate at a reasonable time for them. I have nothing but praise and admiration for the way Lauren teaches and have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone that wants to learn the guitar. - John Taylor

I’ve wanted to learn guitar since I was a teenager, but I never believed I had the talent or the coordination to do it. Now 61, I thought it couldn’t hurt to at least try and get it off my bucket list, so I purchased an inexpensive guitar and started looking at YouTube videos. Many were too fast-paced for me to follow or didn’t show me how to form the chords being played or were speaking in music terms I couldn’t understand. Happily, I came upon a video by Lauren Bateman. The clarity of her explanations and of the video showing, step by step, at a slow pace, how to create the chords made so much sense of things, I began to feel that learning guitar wasn’t impossible after all. Several more of her videos later, I discovered that she offers an online course and immediately signed up. I started the course about four months ago and cannot get over how far I have come in so short a period of time. I’ve gone from knowing absolutely nothing to being able to play “Country Roads,” “Horse With No Name,” and “Eleanor Rigby. - Daryl Holmes
